Abstract

While handling the breeding material in advanced generations, it is essential for the breeder to isolate promising varieties for bearing, earliness and bollowrm tole-rance from the field trials. In this study, efforts were made to find out short-cut-method to isolate cotton varieties with good bearing, earliness and bollworm tole-rance. S.C.-97, S.C.-117, AKH-496 and AKH-607 varieties under test showed good bear-ing, earliness and bollworm tolerance. These types also gave good yield of seed cotton per hectare.
