Response of Direct Seeded and Transplanted Onion (Allium cepa L.) to Dates of Sowing and Nitrogen Levels

Abstract
Evaluation of three sowing dates (Aug 10, Aug 25, Sept 9), two propagation methods (direct seeding vs. transplanting), and three nitrogen levels (50, 75, 100 kg N/ha) on late kharif / pre-rabi onion at Junagadh. Sowing on August 10 and transplanting exhibited significantly superior plant growth, bulb weight, bulb yield (321 q/ha), and N uptake (66.6 kg/ha) compared to direct seeding and later dates.
