Non-chemical management of shoot and fruit borer (Leucinodes orbonalis Guenee) on brinjal 

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at Horticultural Instructional Farm, Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar, Gujarat during kharif 2012 to evaluate non-chemical management of brinjal shoot and fruit borer (Leucinodes orbonalis Guen.). Among the treatments, neem oil 0.5 per cent recorded the lowest shoot (7.77%) and fruit infestation (9.62%) and the highest marketable fruit yield (402.80 q/ha). Thus, neem oil 0.5 per cent was effective in reducing pest infestation and increasing brinjal yield.
