Abstract
A study on the morphology of pink oyster mushroom [Pleurotus djamor (Rumph. ex Fr.) Boedijn] on paddy straw substrate was carried out during 2022–2024 at the Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture, NAU, Waghai. The average stipe length, pileus diameter, pileus length, and fruiting body weight were 1.40 cm, 8.60 cm, 6.20 cm, and 10.50 g, respectively. Basidiospores were hyaline, smooth, ellipsoid, and cylindrical or kidney-shaped, measuring 7.00–9.00 µm × 4.00–5.00 µm. Clamp connections and cheilocystidia were present, while pleurocystidia were absent. Gills were decurrent, distinctly crowded, emarginated, separable, strongly pink-pigmented when young, pale at maturity, lightly intervened at the apex, unequal, pliable, thin, and attenuated towards the margin. The average time required for spawn run, pinhead formation, and first harvest was 14.66 days, 18.33 days, and 22.66 days, respectively.
