Abstract
An experiment was conducted during 2013–14 to 2015–16 to study the influence of different spacing and plant growth regulators on the growth and flower yield of spider lily under Middle Gujarat Agro-climatic conditions at the College Nursery, Department of Horticulture, B. A. College of Agriculture, Anand Agricultural University, Anand. The local cultivar of spider lily was used in the experiment, and transplanting of the spider lily crop was carried out during the kharif season of 2013, i.e., in the second fortnight of July 2013. Three different planting distances, viz., 90 × 45 cm, 60 × 60 cm, and 60 × 45 cm, and foliar sprays of two different plant growth regulators, viz., gibberellic acid and naphthalene acetic acid, were used as treatments. Spider lily crop grown at a spacing of 60 × 60 cm with two sprays of gibberellic acid @ 200 mg per litre was the most effective treatment, which improved flower quality and increased the flower yield of spider lily.
