Abstract
The experimental material comprised of 60 castor genotypes w •n respect of ten characters. The genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance perce;t m;;;p~ules on primary raceme (39. 78 & GCV and PCV were high magnitude for the character number o of ctive raceme length ( cm )(28.28 & 40.50) followed by seed yield per plant (g) (36-51 & 3;~6~se effectively. The magnitude of PCV was 29.39) and number of branches per plant (26.43 & 27.37 , respectively. environmental variance. High genetic higher than GCV for all the characters, suggest!ing the r~le o~ e as recorded for all the traits variability coupled with high heritability and high genetic advances w des per plant and oil content er O no ' understudied except days to flowering, days to maturity, Num _(%) indicating that direct selection for these traits could be effective.
