Abstract
A nursery experiment was conducted during the spring season under North Gujarat conditions to study the effect of IBA and NAA on rooting of hardwood cuttings of seven bougainvillea cultivars. The cuttings were treated with IBA and NAA at 3000, 4000, 5000, and 6000 ppm, along with an untreated control. Different concentrations of IBA and NAA significantly affected rooting in bougainvillea cuttings. IBA at 6000 ppm was found superior in terms of rooting percentage and was statistically at par with NAA at 3000 ppm. Rooting percentage increased with increasing concentrations of IBA, whereas the response was reversed with increasing concentrations of NAA. Among the cultivars tested, ‘Blondie’ recorded the highest rooting percentage, while ‘Snow White’ recorded the lowest.
