Determination of Nutritive Value of Wheat Straw and Groundnut Haulm Mixture in Crossbred Bullocks

Abstract
Six crossbred (J x K x HF) bullocks were fed a mixture of 4.0 kg wheat straw and 3.0 kg groundnut haulm daily to determine its nutritive value. Groundnut haulm contained 11.88 per cent crude protein on dry matter basis. Average dry matter consumption was 5.30 kg per day per animal (2.03 kg/100 kg body weight), which was sufficient to maintain body weight. Feeding of wheat straw and groundnut haulm mixture provided 3.90 per cent DCP and 56.77 per cent TDN on dry matter basis.
