Abstract
Combining ability for seed yield, yield components and oil content was studied in a 9 × 9 half diallel cross of sesame. Combining ability analysis revealed presence of both additive and non-additive gene actions for majority of the traits. The estimates of general combining ability effect suggested that parents GT 4 and AT 319 were good general combiners for seed yield per plant and its related attributes. The specific combining ability effect revealed AT 308 × SKT 12-2, GT 10 × GT 4 and AT 311 × SKT 12-2 as best specific combiners for seed yield per plant.
