Abstract
A comprehensive Animal Nutrition Survey was carried out in the tribal area of Dang district during different seasons in the year 1976-77 to study the feeding practices followed by tribal people, the types of feeds available and their proximate and trace element composition. The animals in Dang are mainly maintained on grazing in Dang forest. About 90%, 40% and 87% fodder samples, were deficient in zinc, manganese and copper during summer season respectively. Whereas about 72% and 50% of fodder samples were deficient in zinc and copper respectively during monsoon season. These values for winter season were 70% and 35%.
